NEW YORK, NY - A winning attitude continues to be the hallmark of the FIT Women's Volleyball team, as they dominated play at the weekend's tri-match held at Kingsborough Community College. The Tigers defeated Westchester CC 3-0 and then defeated Dutchess CC 3-0. The Tigers stand at 9-1 on the season.
The day's first match against Westchester was won 3-0, with individual game scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-8. The outcome of the match can be attributed to the team's contribution of 20 kills and 10 service aces. Middle hitter Casey Buie led the team with 8 kills and 4 aces, followed by co-captain outside hitter Kayla Kalleberg with 3 service aces. Ariane Datil recorded 7 kills.
In the day's second match with Dutchess CC, the Tigers won 3-0 with game scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-11. Kayla Kalleberg led the way with 10 points on 7 kills and 3 aces. Abby Hsuing had a team high 4 aces and Lauren Curley recorded 20 assists.
