Direct Stafford Loan Counseling Sessions
If you are a Direct Stafford Loan Borrower and will be graduating this Spring 2013 semester, or leaving FIT, you are required to attend an Exit Counseling Session. If you were not able to attend one of the in-person sessions the Spring semester, you may also fulfill your requirment one of the following ways:
- You may make an appointment with a financial aid counselor by signing up on the the appointment sheet outside of Room A-212A or us at (212) 217-3560
- Come to Financial Services after 1:00 pm and speak to a counselor at the front desk at Room A-212A, or
- Complete your sessions online at www.studentloans.gov.
All students who are receiving Direct Stafford Loans for the first time at FIT must complete an Entrance Counseling Session before their loan funds can be disbursed. If you were unable to attend an in-person session at the beginning of this semester you may also complete this requirement online anytime at: www.studentloans.gov. It will take about 20-30 minutes to complete the session. We will receive confirmation in approximately 3 - 4 days.
